Software Engineer, Camera Monitoring.

Miami, FL (On-site)Full-time

About Calvis

Calvis is an AI-native physical security platform. Traditional security never learns — guards miss events, patrol routes stay static, and customers find out whether a shift went right only after it's over. We fix that by uniting many licensed security agencies into one intelligent network, then wrapping every shift in an AI Copilot and a 24/7 human Overwatch team. The result: a security operation that gets smarter with every shift — trusted by businesses across warehousing, distribution, manufacturing, retail, and events.

About the role

Live video monitoring is one of our fastest-growing product lines: cameras on customer sites, monitored in real time, with guards dispatched when something happens. You'll build the software behind it: ingest, streaming, event detection, and the operator console.

What you'll do

  • Build reliable video ingest and streaming pipelines from a growing fleet of cameras
  • Apply computer vision / ML to surface real events and cut false alarms
  • Build the monitoring console operators use overnight, every night
  • Wire detections into dispatch, so an alert turns into a guard on-site
  • Own reliability: monitoring is a product that can't go down at 3am

What we're looking for

  • Strong backend or full-stack engineering experience (Python, TypeScript, or similar)
  • Experience with video streaming, computer vision, or real-time systems
  • Pragmatic about ML, happy to use the boring approach when it works better
  • You take ownership of uptime and on-call for what you build
